The Ohio State basketball team has added four transfer players to their roster so far this offseason. They Still have an open scholarship, so they may not be done. The roster turnover is quite high from what it was a year ago, which is expected after a head coach gets fired in the middle of the season.

It’s the Jake Diebler era now. He is ready to put his stamp on this program. He has done about as good of a job as a first-time head coach can do. Diebler has addressed the roster issues that plagued his team after they had a bunch of players leave. Which of the incoming transfers will have the biggest impact on the team this year?

Aaron Bradshaw will have the biggest impact on the Ohio State basketball team.

Newly acquired center Aaron Bradshaw is likely to have the biggest impact on the team. He comes in from Kentucky after just one season with John Calipari. Once Calipari left for Arkansas, Bradshaw put his name in the portal. Initially, he was going to be Felix Okpara’s backup. Then Okpara changed his mind and entered the portal. He is now committed to Tennessee.

That means that Bradshaw has moved up the depth chart. He is going to be the starter and will likely play about 30 minutes a game. That means he’s going to get more than twice the number of minutes he got as a freshman. As a former top-five recruit in the country, I think he’ll be up for the challenge of having an expanded role.

One of the things that plagued the Buckeyes a year ago was a lack of a post presence on offense. They didn’t have a guy to whom they could throw the ball to on the block to get them a bucket when the offense got stagnant. They’re hoping Bradshaw is a guy who can turn into that.

Bradshaw should have a strong first year with the Ohio State basketball program. I expect to see him have an impact both offensively and defensively right away.
