AC Milan have held a long-term interest in Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson and will likely want to observe him again against the Rossoneri when the Grifone travel to San Siro on Sunday night. However, they may not have the chance to do so.

Since the start of this season, reports have made suggestions about Milan’s interest in Gudmundsson, with the Icelandic star having previous links to the club through his great grandfather, who also shared the same name, and perhaps in the future, career path.

It goes further than the roots, though. For the Rossoneri, there has been a desire to add versatile attacking talent to the squad for some time, and Gudmundsson fits that mould with the ability to play across the front three. Nevertheless, his preferred position is behind the striker.

However, MilanNews have reported that the Diavolo could be unable to view him at the San Siro because he is suffering from a flu-like condition and might be unable to recover in time to play in the fixture.

Whilst it is positive that a dangerous player may be unable to feature against them, the management would have had another chance to view him in person, with the added pressure that playing at San Siro provides.
